Engelmann Spruce
A straight tree that can grow to 50 metres tall. The Engelmann Spruce is a species of spruce native to western North America, including central British Columbia.
The Engelmann Spruce grows in the wetter interior valleys against the base of the mountains.
Englemann Spruce is also the whitest of all the softwoods. It has a pale yellow/white heartwood and a pale yellow/white softwood. It is probably the most uniform of all the softwoods. Englemann spruce has very little odor and is fine grained with a smooth texture. It is a strong wood with more flex than other softwoods.
Engelmann Spruce has very good working properties. Canada's Log People only uses Interior tight grain log that have been slowly grown.
